In recognition of soul and flavour:The Academy of Gastronomy honours us

There are moments in the life of a restaurant that mark a before and an after. Hearing that the Academy of Gastronomy of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has unanimously decided to award us its 2025 Gastronomy Prize is one of them.

This award is not just a trophy for our display cabinets; it recognises a path built on hard work, respect for the produce and, above all, a great deal of heart.

The Academy’s board, chaired by Lourdes Fernández, highlighted elements that, for us, are the foundation of our everyday work:

• Fusion as identity: They valued that “extraordinary culinary fusion” in which my Latin American heritage is in constant dialogue with Mediterranean culture and the essence of the Canary Islands.
• A benchmark in the capital: We are proud to be considered an established culinary benchmark in Santa Cruz, adding value to our city and projecting it across the archipelago.
• The soul of the team: Beyond technique, the Academy underlined the “soul” we put into every service. A collective effort in which the kitchen and the dining room work hand in hand so that every guest feels at home.

Although the award goes to Etéreo, this success has many names.

We would also like to congratulate Chari Peón (Restaurante El Coto) on her well-deserved special mention; it is an honour to share the honours list with professionals of her standing.

This award adds to a series of milestones that have made 2025 an unforgettable year: from the Two Suns of the Repsol Guide to my recent participation in the Gastronomic Convention in Cali. Every award is a reminder that a passion for cooking knows no borders.

We end the year with a suitcase full of gratitude and a kitchen burning brighter than ever.
