On board the ARC Gloria:Colombia’s ambassador on the seas invites Etéreo during her call in Tenerife
News · 5 November 2026
Etéreo by Pedro Nel received a special invitation aboard the training ship ARC Gloria of the Colombian Navy during her call at Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The invitation, in recognition of Etéreo’s journey and of the work the restaurant has built in Tenerife, took Pedro Nel aboard the tall ship known as Colombia’s floating ambassador on the seas of the world.
Pride, gratitude and emotion
“Being part of this gathering is an immense source of pride, gratitude and emotion. It is also an opportunity to carry further the name of our cuisine, our roots and the Colombian-Canarian identity that defines us.”
“Thank you for making us part of such a special experience,” the restaurant wrote. “For us, it is an honour we will always carry in our hearts.”
The Gloria in Tenerife
The ARC Gloria is a three-masted barque of 76 metres, built in Bilbao at the Celaya shipyard and in service since 1968 as the training ship of the Colombian Navy. She berthed on 3 November at the Dársena de Los Llanos, in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with 67 cadets of the Almirante Padilla Naval Academy aboard, and stays until 6 November. It is her first call in the Canary Islands in nine years.
Tenerife is the last international stop of her 2026 training cruise, which left Cartagena de Indias on 28 April. From here, the Gloria crosses the Atlantic back to Cartagena de Indias, where she is due to arrive on 1 December.
